Healing Cancer
The DVD is divided into two parts. Part 1, Curing Cancer, deals with the failings of conventional cancer treatments and shows how conventional medicine wildly - and deceptively - exaggerates the benefits of treatments, while minimizing the risks. It will provide you with the information you need to accurately assess the risks and benefits of any treatment and speak intelligently to your doctor about such treatments. There is also a section on the 'Cancer Industry' which explains the history behind cancer treatments, the suppression of alternative treatments and why chemotherapy, radiation and surgery are the only treatments available to mainstream medicine. Part 2, Healing Cancer, shows how cancer can be successfully healed with dietary treatments and natural supplementation. It explains common misconceptions about cancer, shows how diets designed to fight cancer are more successful than conventional treatments, discusses startling cancer research findings with T. Colin Campbell (The China Study) and has interviews with people who have reversed cancers using diet. It also discusses supplementation and why attitude is important in reversing not only cancer, but any disease.

The Thyroid Cancer Book
M. Sara Rosenthal, Ph.D., bestselling author of The Thyroid Sourcebook (recommended by The New York Times), The Thyroid Sourcebook for Women and The Hypothyroid Sourcebook has just published The Thyroid Cancer Book, the only consumer book to date devoted to thyroid cancer. A thyroid cancer survivor herself, Rosenthal wrote the book she wishes she'd had when diagnosed in 1983.
The Thyroid Cancer Book explains all forms of thyroid cancer and its treatment in plain language. It was written in consultation with the leading medical experts on thyroid cancer in North America, and is the only book of its kind in the world. It includes extensive information on:
* Significant risk factors for developing the disease, and how to find and investigate lumps in the neck
* Papillary and follicular thyroid cancers, as well as the less common medullary and anaplastic cancers
* Treatment options, surgery and radioactive iodine
* Post-treatment follow up, whole body scans and Thyrogen
* Self-healing and complementary therapies
* The emotional impact of cancer on families and loved ones
* Palliative care
While thyroid cancer accounts for roughly two percent of all cancers, it's among the fastest growing cancers in incidence. Its causes in North America are associated with fallout from nuclear testing in the American midwest, and environmental causes which Rosenthal also writes about in detail.
What thyroid cancer survivors are saying about The Thyroid Cancer Book:
M. Sara Rosenthal is a sociologist and bioethicist who completed her Ph.D. at The University of Toronto Joint Centre for Bioethics. She is author of more than 25 books and is an Associate of the University of Toronto Centre for Health Promotion, as well as Medical Ethicist for The American Foundation for Thyroid Patients.

The Rainbow Feelings Of Cancer A Book For Children Who Have A Loved One With
When Chia Martin was diagnosed with cancer, she found her daughter Carrie's artwork a catalyst to their communication. This beautiful, heartwarming book features Carrie's art and writing about the emotions evoked by her mother's illness. Describing her own fears, difficulties and hopes, Carrie doesn't tell her readers what to feel; rather, she gently invites them into her world, offering them an opportunity to speak, draw, or consider their own feelings. Children need to share their feelings and ask questions, especially in stressful times -- and this book subtly and warmly encourages conversation between children and those who love them. Over two million cancer cases are diagnosed every year in the U.S., so the number of children who must deal with a loved one's illness is growing; each can benefit from Carrie's story.

A Guide To Survivorship For Women With Ovarian Cancer (A Johns Hopkins Press Health Book)
This comprehensive guide to ovarian cancer offers a wealth of information to ease the physical, emotional, and psychic suffering of women with the disease. The authors -- two Johns Hopkins gynecologic oncologists and a gynecologic-oncology clinical nurse -- put particular emphasis on the concept of "survivorship," or living life well in the face of daunting uncertainties. They stress the importance of self-determination: the right of each patient to be informed, involved, and in control of her care.
Up-to-date information on diagnosis and treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, pain management, and alternative therapies, forms the core of the book. But the authors' immense clinical experience also means they understand what women worry about and care about, and they address these issues with true compassion. Stressing quality of life, self-determination, and living life to the fullest, this remarkable book speaks to women with ovarian cancer everywhere.
